There are many physics theories that are amazingly interesting, but that seem very far from our day to day experiences. This book takes a new way at guiding us through some of these interesting theories by changing nature’s rules.
For example, relativistic effects might only be important at high speeds — and more relevant the closer you get to the speed of light. What if we were in a different world were the speed of light was much smaller, for example, closer to biking speed? Can you imagine being late to school and biking faster and faster only to find that objects are warping and time goes by faster?
Or can you imagine if we had a maxwell demon where as you pour a glass of water some of the water would be frozen while part of it was boiling?
This is a fantastic read and a great effort at scientific communication. #scicom.
